day 1 and 2: All of us on the Celebrating Connecticut trip have had two great days. We started yesterday at the Yale Planetarium and watched an amazing documentary about black holes, galaxies, and stars. We followed that with another astonishing video of a tour of our universe! After that, we ate lunch and took a short walk to the Peabody Museum. There we looked at giant dinosaurs where we took pictures comparing our size to the dinosaur's body. All 28 of us did not reach the length of the amazing T-Rex. In addition, there were exhibits about insects, prehistoric animals, and human evolution. Today, everyone went to Mystic Aquarium and saw some amazing aquatic creatures. There was everything from baluga whales to starfish! I'm sure everyone would agree that the sea lion show was by far the most impressive. There were four sea lions all performing amazing tricks such as leaping out of the water, doing flips, and showing there intellect by knowing shapes. Our group also watched a 3D video that made us feel like we were looking through the eyes of an animal! So far our Celebrating Connecticut trip has been very memorable, but its not over yet!
Day 3:
Today the Celebrating Connecticut students went to Lake Compounce! It was an amazing and exiting experience. We started off the day with a quick spin on Zoomerang, then we headed for Pirate Ship! Everyone filled out their physics packet for thoes two rides then went on their way to have a great time in the amusement park. My group went to Bumper Cars, Saw Mill Plunge, and the Ferris Wheel. There were also many other rides such as Twister, American Flyers, Thunder and Lightning, the Carousel, Thunder Rapids, Boulder Dash, Wild Cat, Enterprize, Ghost Hunters, Wipe Out, the swings, and Down Time. Many students enjoyed these rides too today. Other than rides, there were great eateries and souvenir shops. There were even glitter tatoos available! When the day came to a close, we all boarded the busses and had a relaxing trip back to the school. This trip will be one that I will always remember. I had an amazing time and I'm sure everyone else did, too.
